About Us

The Berkshire Japanese Society ( originally Reading Japanese Language Group ) was founded near the end of 2010 by a single individual that decided Reading, and indeed Berkshire, needed a place for Japan & Japanese enthusiasts to converge.

The group lived on Meetup for a few months before moving to Facebook currently operating at :

There is also a blog which aims to provide information to anyone not currently on Facebook; found at :

http://berkshirejapanese.blogspot.co.uk/

The group is free to join, it is social, laid back and a good place to meet people with similar interests. We are open to all, natives and non-natives alike, whatever your level of interest, skill or knowledge.

People come and go as part of the group and over the last few years a lot of us have made good friends and a few links with Japan.
